“Before He Wakes,” was filmed in the Wenatchee Foothills last fall. This short film, by Wenatchee resident Steven Gnam, is about one woman’s daily routine to rise in the dark and greet the sunrise. The imagery does a great job in showcasing the Wenatchee Valley.

Incidentally, a good way to introduce yourself to trail running in our foothills (or to keep a pre-existing passion going) is to run the Horse Lake Half Marathon up on the Horse Lake Reserve on Saturday (May 9). Details here. RunWenatchee is sponsoring the event and proceeds from the run will go to the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust. It’s because of the Land Trust that we all have access to several square miles of pristine undeveloped land connecting Twin Peaks with the Sage Hills, continued protection and access to Saddle Rock, and new access to Castle Rock.
