So you thought Skijoring was for the dogs. Think again. Skijoring was coined in the 1920’s by the Norwegians to mean “ski drive.” It is the action of being pulled over snow or ice on skis by a horse, dog or motor vehicle.

For dog skijoring, this can be done using either x-country skis or skate skis. A sled harness is attached to the dog and a bungee cord lead connects from the dog to the skier. The skier wears a harness around their core and then the dog pulls the skier for a faster skiing experience. Let the fun begin!
