DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, February 4\, 2018\n\n Share \n\nAvalanche Awareness\nPresented by Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort-This workshop is designed for mountain enthusiasts who are starting to tour on their own and possibly venturing out of the ski area boundries. \nAreas of focus in this course: \n\nRecognize & Avoid Avalanche Terrain\nUnderstanding Layed Snow\nWeather Indicators & Red Flags\nBasic Companion Rescue\nAvalanche Control Techniques\nBoundary Policies\nAvalanche Terrain & Terrain Maps\nBasic Route Selection\nCurrent Snow Pack Conditions\nCompanion Recovery\nProbing\, Shoveling\, & Beacon use\n\nWorkshops begin at 9am. Participants will meet outside the Mission Ridge Base Area First Aid Room. Please be prepared with all your ski and snowboard gear to ride the chairlift to the summit at 9am.
