SUMMARY:White River Snowshoe Hike
DESCRIPTION:Date\nSat\, 03/10/2018\n\n\nTime\n9:00 AM to 4:00 PM\n\n\nLocation\nWhite River (Carpool from Leavenworth Park & Ride) \n\nThe Chelan Douglas Land Trust Presents-Join wildlife biologist Heather Murphy for a naturalist’s snowshoe tour of the White River. Heather will discuss this special area’s importance to forests\, birds\, mammals and salmon. Stops on the tour will also highlight the American Indian and historical use of the land and current conservation projects. We’ll have a chance to warm up at Tall Timber Ranch Lodge halfway through the day. \nSnowshoers should be able to walk for 4 hours on snowshoes in winter weather over difficult terrain. Backcountry skiers could attend if experienced in off-track skiing with appropriate equipment. Please bring snowshoes or skis and poles\, layers\, safety gear\, hat\, gloves\, sunglasses\, snacks and water. Some loaner snowshoes may be available. Binoculars and field guides would be very helpful. No dogs\, please. \nParticipants will have the opportunity to eat lunch at Tall Timber Ranch’s Lodge ($9) or bring their own sack lunch. Hot drinks will be available for a small donation through Tall Timber Ranch as well. Please let Hillary know when you sign up for the trip whether you will be planning to buy lunch at Tall Timber or bring your own. \nTrip is limited to 12 and is free for Land Trust members. We are reserving an additional 8 slots for Team Naturaleza .
