SUMMARY:Quincy Basin Geology Tour
DESCRIPTION:Quincy Basin Geology Tour \n\nSeptember 14 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm \n$40 – $45 \n\n\n\nIce Age Floods using the Grand Coulee and the Upper Crab Creek drainages\, filled the Quincy Basin at a rate up to 16.5 million cubic meters of water per second. This tour\, led by Ken Lacy\, will examine the incredible erosive consequences of the floodwaters escaping the Quincy Basin\, via Lynch\, Potholes and Frenchman Springs Coulees. The tour will also examine the eight mile wide Drumheller Channels\, through which most of the Quincy Basin floodwaters drained largely down the Lower Crab Creek drainage\, toward the Columbia River at Beverly\, Washington. \nTour goers will meet at the Wenatchee Valley Museum to board a tour bus that will depart at 9 a.m. \nFor more information click here.

SUMMARY:Reading Forest Health on Nason Ridge
DESCRIPTION:The Chelan Douglas Land Trust Presents- \nReading Forest Health on Nason Ridge \nLearning to read the forest is an acquired skill. Come learn from an expert! Join forest health specialist Connie Mehmel on a hike along Nason Ridge and learn about the interactions of trees\, understory plants\, insects and diseases in this beautiful and diverse forest. \nThe Nason Ridge property was recently purchased from a timber company for its conservation value. The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust is now working with Western Rivers Conservancy\, which stepped up and purchased the property in June\, to identify the preferred permanent owner of this important forest land. One possible future for this land is as a community forest\, which means the community would develop its management plan. Come learn more about this special place. \nRSVPs required. Please RSVP online or by contacting Hillary (hillary@cdlandtrust.org or 509 667-9708). This trip is limited to 12 people. 9:00 is the meeting time for Leavenworth\, Lake Wenatchee residents can meet us at the trailhead at 9:45. Participants will receive an email with more information before the hike.
