DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Chelan Douglas Land Trust and Wenatchee Parks and Recreation \nThis is you and your family’s chance to try out one of winter’s most popular activities: snowshoeing! \nWe’ll learn the basics of walking with snowshoes on\, the go on an easy snowshoe walk. We’ll stop and read a snow-themed book and learn about winter animals. Then we’ll enjoy hot chocolate back at our cars. \nAdults: $8.00/$8.50 (City of Wenatchee resident/non-resident) Children: 12 & under $5.25/$6.00 (Resident/Non-Resident) Snowshoes are provided by the City of Wenatchee. \nKids ages 6 & up. Bring water and snacks\, dress warmly and wear sturdy\, waterproof shoes. 1.5 – 2 hrs. total.

Whether you are just looking for an opportunity to check this adventure off your bucket list\, or a seasoned climber looking for a place to get some laps in\, we would love to have you. \n-Open 6 Saturdays from Jan 25th – Feb 29th\n-Schedule:\n10-12am\n12:30-2:30pm\n3-5pm\n-Donation of $50 per climber for each 2 hour reservation \nSIGN UP HERE \nAll gear and equipment is provided and you do not need ANY experience to climb.\nMust be 12 years or older to climb but children are welcome to come and watch. \nAll donations go directly towards SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS at Stonewater Ranch. There are many students each year that cannot pay for the adventure trips that we offer and it is our heart to never turn someone away because of finances. So come climb and help youth from the PNW get outside in 2020!!!! \nAll climbing is subject to ice conditions and could be canceled if it is unsafe to climb.

DESCRIPTION:Join Lake Wenatchee State Park staff every Saturday in January & February at 1pm as park staff guide you on a snowshoe hike through scenery along the Wenatchee River\, the shore of Lake Wenatchee\, and surrounding forest. Participants can enjoy a well-packed route through parts of our park that are not always accessible in summer. Expect some historical talking points about the park and views of Nason Ridge\, Dirty Face\, and South Beach. \nWhen: 1 Pm \nWhere: North Entrance by the reservation booth\, which is located 4.5 miles from HWY 2 on HWY 207/ Lake Wenatchee Highway. Meet just beyond the reservation station. \nName of trail: Lake Loop Snowshoe Trail \nLength of Hike: 2 mile loop full route\, shortcut option available \nDifficulty: Easy \nThings to know: Hike is subject to change dependent upon snow/weather conditions. Starting from the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery\, join Wenatchee River Institute (WRI) area naturalist guides on a one-mile snowshoe trail along beautiful Icicle Creek\, learning about native wildlife and ecology along the way. All skill levels are welcome\, with snowshoes\, gaiters and poles provided.\n“Snowshoeing is a great way to spend time outdoors and stay moving during winter months\, noticing things you often don’t see because you are either indoors or traveling by car\,” said Tricia Cook\, WRI administrations and communications. \nEven if this is your first time on snowshoes\, come along and enjoy this fun outdoor program. Bring your enthusiasm for the wonders of winter and nature\, and make sure to dress in warm layers.
