SUMMARY:Mountain Trail Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Mountain Trail is one of the fastest growing disciplines in the horse world. Whether you would like to compete or be a better partner with your horse on the trail\, this course can help. The work that you will do with your horse during this 3-day course will create the groundwork for a safe and sane mount out on the trail. There will be over 30 obstacles that we will work on along with arena work to achieve a basic foundation. From beginner trail to advanced trail\, there is something for everyone. \nThe course will begin in the classroom to explain the training methodology and then you’re off to get your horse in hand with just a halter. You will work on basic ground work that will teach your horse to move on the haunch\, shoulder\, forward\, back\, and laterally. Next you will work through the basics of moving through cavalettis and simple obstacles while driving your horse in hand. After lunch the group will move onto the trail course to work on the teeter totter\,\nbridges\, water\, logs\, and more. Day 2 will be under saddle. Trail obstacles will be ridden after they have been accomplished in hand. Day 3 will be spent on the trail course and then out on a trail ride that has real world obstacles to test your new skills. \nEach course will be limited to 10 students and taught by 2 instructors\, ensuring lots of hands-on attention. Chris Jonason has 35 years of horse experience and apprenticed with Mark Bollender for 2 years and she was his first certified apprentice. Chris gleans from both her extensive back country experience as well as Mark’s teachings. She presents an easy step-by-step methodology that will help you and your equine friend attain your goals. Chris was an outfitter and farrier for over 35 years with vast experience in the mountains. Horse and rider will be taught as individuals with consideration for their own goals and desires. \nLocation: Rendezvous Ranch \n9140 Nahahum Canyon Rd\, Cashmere\, WA 98815\n\nFor more information click here.

SUMMARY:Darkside 2020-CANCELLED-
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 26\, 2020 at 6 PM – 10 PM \nFor more information click here. \nThe Darkside…CANCELLED \n… the infamous ride that started with a small group of Mountain Bikers wanting to ride at night almost 20 years ago has seen MANY changes over the years… \nThe Event has grown and morphed into a large festival…we have had Music acts\, Running races\, hikes\, camping\, taco trucks\, you name since 2001. \nWe have changed locations a handful of times as well! From the days at Beehive\, to Misson Ridge Lodge\, to Ancient Lakes\, and then Squilchuck the last few years. \nWe have seen Mother Nature flex her muscles over the years! From rain\, to Blazing Heat\, to smoke\, and\, of course\, SNOW! When Mother Nature wants to show you who’s the boss\, she can! \nWith all the fun over the years\, I’ve heard grumblings from locals that the Darkside lost the organic feel that it did so many years ago… that MAYBE we “fixed” something that didn’t need fixin’… \n…so this year\, we are going organic. Back to being a ride. Back to standing around a campfire after the ride\, with a hot dog and a coldy\, catching up with new and old friends. Back to NEEDING a light for the ride. Back to celebrating mountain biking in the Wenatchee Valley. It just feels right… \nOur plan is to have it at #2. We are talking with the FS about it\, so not 100% nailed down. We will get you checked in\, and head out around 6 30 ish up Stairway to our First stop at the Shark Fin to catch the sun set at 6 50 pm\, and watch night fall onto the city. Our other stops will be dependent on what trails get built over the upcoming summer. \nWe will all return to stand by the fire\, roast a dog\, raise a glass of cheer to each other\, to our community\, and to Mountain Biking in the Valley! \nWe will get registration up and running later\, but wanted everyone to get this on their calendar! \nBEST in health to you and your family! \n
