SUMMARY:Calling Women In-Snow Science
DESCRIPTION:This is an online event. \nHosted by Community Snow Observations and SheJumps \nDid you know less than 10% of snow scientists identify as women? We’re invested in seeing that shift to include more women in snow science. Join us for a virtual panel packed with women who’ve made their careers in snow science. Listen to their stories about how they got into and why they’ve stuck with it. Topics will include finding the career\, the education process\, challenges along the way\, support and how they see the career changing in the future. \nIn addition\, snow scientists Katreen Wikstrom Jones and Christina Aragon will explain the Community Snow Observations project which is part of the NASA Citizen Science for Earth Systems project. You’ll learn how you can be a citizen scientist and help CSO predict snow conditions and improve snow safety in the mountains. We’ll wrap it all up with a Q & A session hosted by Dr. Sara Boilen. \nAs an added bonus to those who participate\, we are giving away some sweet Arc’teryx gear! The participant must register & attend the event in order to qualify. Winners will be announced the following day by SheJumps on their Instagram. \n** This event is donation based yet you must register via Eventbrite** \nFor more information click here.

Join Aaron Penvose\, of Trout Unlimited\, for a talk to hear more about the project\, the goals\, and what comes next. \nHow to Watch: The event will be streamed via Facebook Live. Just head to our Facebook page. You do not need to have a Facebook account to see the video.\nQuestions can be sent ahead of time to rbishop@wenatcheeriverinstitute.org or typed as a comment during the live video.
