DESCRIPTION:October 5 @ 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDate\nTue\, 10/05/2021\n\n\nTime\n9:00 AM – 11:30 AM\n\n\nLocation\n1963 Castlerock Ave\, Wenatchee\, WA 98801\n\n\n\n\nJoin us at Castle Rock to perform annual fall maintenance on the Castle Rock trail system\, and any existing trail infrastructure (trail closure barriers\, fences\, rock steps). This work will be light to moderate and involve hiking up to 3 miles and using hand tools such as hoes and McLeods along the way. \nEveryone’s safety is our top priority at these events. Please read CDLT’s COVID Safety Protocol and do not attend the event if you are feeling unwell. Remember to bring a face mask to wear when you’re around other people\, work gloves\, hand sanitizer\, water\, snacks\, layers of clothing appropriate for the task & weather on site\, close-toed shoes\, and appropriate tools if you have them. The Land Trust will bring tools for volunteers to use. \nPlease RSVP here so we can get an accurate headcount and provide you with details for the work party as the date approaches. \n*All work parties are weather and conditions dependent. DESCRIPTION:This event is hosted by the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Wenatchee Outdoors. This event is part of Wenatchee Outdoors Wenatchee Moves campaign\, happening the first two weeks of October.  \nJoin us online along with Sarah Shaffer and the WenOut team on Tuesday\, October 5 at 7 PM\, to watch two short films and have a conversation about the human need for connection with the great outdoors through many avenues including human-powered recreation. The two films that will guide our conversation are\, “The Important Places” by Gnarly Bay and “Unfenced” by Patagonia. Where have you been the closest to nature and noticed how infinitely small we are compared to the great outdoors? What actions can we take to preserve lands that remain undisturbed in our region?  \nABOUT “THE IMPORTANT PLACES” \nIn this heart-warming short film acclaimed photographer Forest Woodward and Brendan Leonard chronicle a father-son journey down the Colorado River. The trip simultaneously illuminates the beauty and fragility of the canyon and of life as Forest grapples with the reality of his rapidly aging father and struggles to find his own path. \nABOUT “UNFENCED” \nThe Red Desert in southwest Wyoming is the largest unfenced area in the continental United States. In order to raise awareness about this threatened ecosystem\, several Wyoming conservation groups have banded together to organize a trail race that brings runners\, local stakeholders\, and concerned citizens together to experience this place and see exactly what is at stake. \nPlease note there is adult content that includes brief nudity and strong language in “The Important Places.” \nREGISTER HERE \nRegister in advance for this webinar.
