This class is a wildlife track and sign evaluation through CyberTracker North America. David’s approach to this class is highly interactive\, engaging participants in identification and interpretation of tracks and signs. Lots of time for questions and discussion is built in. This style is an excellent way to learn and investigate\, with the chance to achieve a wildlife tracking certificate through CyberTracker North America. Certificates are awarded on three levels. You will not want to miss this opportunity! \n\n\n\nCyberTracker classes provide an opportunity for quality\, focused learning from some of the best trackers in the country. They are designed to further participant’s tracking knowledge\, as well as to rigorously test and document their current tracking skill set. Originally designed to help African Bushmen gain employment on game preserves\, they also provide an internationally recognized certification of tracking ability\, an important credential for wildlife researchers and environmental educators as well as for people who want to test and push their own ability. Evaluations are entirely field based\, striving to expose participants to the widest range of tracks and signs as possible. This site\, managed by Tyler Larson as a family forest\, has had a variety of fuel reduction treatments including a prescribed burn in October 2023. Participants will learn the basics of conducting a forest inventory and how stocking density is measured. We will also showcase some examples of wildlife habitat that has been created through this process. \n\n\n\nFREE to attend\, registration required. \n\n\n\nThe location is 50 minutes from Leavenworth in the Teanaway\, and will be provided after registration. \n\n\n\nWe will be walking for a few hours through easy to moderate terrain. \n\n\n\nPlease bring your own food and water for the field trip.
