We will learn about native wildlife and ecology along the way. What signs do we see along the trail that tell us what animals were there? How do the plants and animals survive winter? Even if this is your first time on snowshoes\, come along and enjoy this fun outdoor winter program! Bring your enthusiasm for the wonders of winter and nature\, and make sure to dress in warm layers. \nMeeting location – Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery visitor center.\nDifficulty level – Beginner level\, all skill levels are welcome. DESCRIPTION:Twilight Snowshoe Trek\n\nThis fun\, informative\, guided snowshoe trek leaves from the Mission Ridge Base Area and heads up to the Midway Lodge. Each trek’s pace fits the group’s interests and abilities. Great for first-time snowshoers and those looking for a unique\, non-skiing\, on-snow experience. Twilight Snowshoe Treks are approximately 1.5 miles long\, with an elevation gain of roughly 550 feet\, and take around 2 hrs. \nSuggested Gear: Boots that fit well and offer good ankle support\, goggles\, gloves\, a winter hat\, coat\, snow pants & headlamp. \nCreature Comforts if you have them: backpack\, gaiters\, and facemask. \nGroups will meet at 4:30 PM in front of the Hampton Lodge Rental/Retail Shop and departs promptly at 5:00 PM. \nTours are available by reservation every Friday and Saturday evening from December 27th to March 1st. \nPrice \n$10 to register\, $30 to rent snowshoes. \nRegister Here
