Walk beyond the gates and follow that main roadway straight until you see our red illuminated light sign board.  \nHow to Sign Up \nNo registration is required. No need to sign up\, just come on out and show up. Stay as long as you would like. But please arrive on time\, so we can start introductions and explain how the event works.  \nCost \nWhile the event is free\, donations are gladly accepted. SUMMARY:From Snow to Ash: How Increasing Wildfires Threaten North Cascades Canada Lynx
DESCRIPTION:North Cascades Institute is offering this online course. \nWHEN: Sep 03\, 2025 from 06:00 PM to 07:15 PM \nWHERE: Any where you want!! \n\nINSTRUCTOR: Carmen Vanbianchi\n\n\nACTIVITY LEVEL: 1.0\n\n\nCLASS TUITION: $10.00 \n\n\n\n\nWildfires in the Pacific Northwest are reshaping landscapes at an unprecedented pace\, impacting both human communities and the wildlife that call these forests home. Among the most vulnerable is the elusive Canada lynx—an iconic predator of the North Cascades that relies on dense\, high-elevation forests for survival. \nOver the past two decades\, wildfires have rapidly altered lynx habitat\, pushing this already rare species to the brink. Conservationists need new tools to confront this era of mega wildfires\, and Home Range Wildlife Research is working hard to provide them. \nJoin Carmen Vanbianchi\, Research Director at Home Range\, for an inside look at their lynx and wildfire research. Learn about the dynamics between lynx and wildfire\, how researchers study this elusive carnivore during harsh winter months in the mountains (hint: snowmobiles\, roadkill deer\, and cat toys)\, and what their findings mean for the future of lynx conservation. \nIf you can’t make the specific date or time of a class you want to take\, you can still register and we will send you a link to view the program on your own time! All registrants will have access to the class recording for a limited time to re-watch too. \n\nEvent Link and to Register \n\n
