DESCRIPTION:Wenatchee Valley chapter of Washington Native Plant Society is offering Northeast Washington Wildflowers. \nThe Northeastern corner of our state from Spokane to the Canadian and Idaho borders has its own floral mix\, with influences from the Rocky Mountains\, British Columbia\, the Palouse and more. We will explore what makes this region distinct from the rest of Washington and construct a sense of place with an appreciation of both classic-friend plants and regional specialties. \nAbout the presenter: Elliot Robison is the incoming Chapter Chair for the WNPS Northeast Chapter. We will spend our days outdoors\, exploring Wenatchee River Institute and the surrounding park\, leading us through forested wintry habitats\, along the river\, and through snowy meadows. Participants will investigate and learn about the world around us\, play fun games\, and do art activities! \nThere will be an option for pre-camp care that starts at 9:00 AM for an extra cost. \nCamp registration opens Wednesday\, January 7\, 2026\, at 5:00pm. Link to register is below. \nOur base cost of this Mid-Winter camp is $130 per camper. This includes 10 hours of camp program\, supplies\, two educators (a ratio of 2 staff to 13 campers)\, camp support staff\, and facilities costs. \nWRI is committed to continuing the Pay What You Can structure for camps. It is modeled after our midweek Devo Program (first layer ski clinic for elementary age kids). \n\nClinic Cost: Children 6-12yr $60 for 2 hours of FUN on skis Saturday’s 10am-12pm. Season $500 \nAll KIDS SKI FREE on Plain Valley Ski Trails\, BUT still need Trail Passes for Liability!  Please be sure to secure your ticket prior to the clinic at SkiPlain.com \nWhat’s Not Included: Ski Rentals: Both classic and skate ski packages are available at Plain Hardware\, conveniently located across from the ski trails in Plain. SUMMARY:CDLT Member Event: White River Snowshoe Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join Chelan-Douglas Land Trust for a Snowshoe tour of the White River led by Elisa Lopez and Ayla Medina Ulloa. The trip leader will discuss the importance of this special area to forests\, birds\, mammals\, salmon\, and water resources. \nStops on the tour will highlight conifer diversity\, animal tracks\, conservation projects\, and the historical use of the land. We’ll have a chance to warm up at Tall Timber Ranch Lodge halfway through the day. \nSnowshoers should be able to walk over difficult terrain on snowshoes for 3 hours in winter weather. Snowshoes will be provided\, although we encourage you to bring your own if you have some. Please specify when you register if you will need snowshoes. \nCarpooling will be available. Please let us know in the comments below if you are interested. \nLimited space available. REGISTRATION WILL OPEN IN FEBRUARY 2026. \nThis is a members-only event. If you’re not yet a member of the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust\, we warmly invite you to become a member by making a donation of any amount here. \nAccessibility: The Land Trust is working to make all of our events as accessible as possible.
