Whether you have never climbed in your life\, or have tried it a time or two inside\, let’s get down some basics on how to “clean” a route when outside now that the weather is warming up along with discuss “lead” climbing and how to accomplish this outdoors. We can also gain basic knowledge for knots used for climbing and have some more advanced classes down the road for other knot options. At a later date we can take a field trip! This event offers a diverse array of activities suitable for children and families of all biking proficiencies—from toddlers on balance bikes to young enthusiasts mastering more challenging trails. The festival will feature organized rides specifically tailored for youth between the ages of 3 and 13\, alongside bike games that cater to various age groups. Additionally\, the event will provide open trails for biking or hiking\, allowing families the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area together. \nParticipants will also find an assortment of booths dedicated to outdoor activities in the region\, as well as attractions such as face painting among other engaging activities. Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic or opt for on-site dining options. The festival encourages families to make the most of the weekend by immersing themselves in mountain play. \nFor those wishing to extend their stay\, RV\, trailer\, and tent camping are available within the park adjacent to the event grounds. It should be noted that camping spots are limited and require prior registration of a child participant. While the campsite provides essential bathroom facilities equipped with water\, it lacks power\, water\, or sewer connections for individual sites. In the interest of safety and preservation\, open fires are strictly prohibited and all pets must be kept on a leash at all times. \nCompetitive Youth Rides\nSomething for every child! DESCRIPTION:Wenatchee River Institute Presents \nJoin the Wenatchee Valley Astronomy Club on a family friendly journey through space. Using a variety of telescopes\, we’ll gaze up into the Milky Way and learn about some of the best night sky objects to view. From the stunning rings of Saturn and planetary nebulas to large cataclysmic supernova remnants we’ll journey through our own galaxy and even take a look at neighboring ones. \nDuring this program we’ll also explore the basics of telescope use\, the different types of telescopes\, and some helpful tricks to enhance your experience in star gazing. \nPlease dress for the cool evening weather as we will be outside the entire time. Be sure to leave the bright white lights at home. If flashlights are needed\, please only use red lights. As there is no seating\, please bring a blanket or chair. \nAge Limit: 8+ years old\nAges 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.\nRegistration for this event is required. Limit 25 participants. \nCost is Pay What You Can \nWe offer the Pay What You Can model in recognition that paying for education programs looks different for different people.
