DESCRIPTION:Have you been to the Horan Natural Area between Walla Walla Point Park and Confluence State Park? The Horan Natural Area is a wonderful place to take a quiet stroll\, enjoy the river\, and see some cute critters and wildlife along the way. We will start at Walla Walla Point Park\, in the north parking lot by the softball fields\, walk north through the Horan Natural Area to the bridge over the Wenatchee river and turn back. A nice way to end the work day is to get moving and make some new friends!\n\nDue to construction on 19th street loop and the east side of the loop to resurface\, the Outing has been relocated to Walla Walla Park.\n\n

SUMMARY:Inclusive Community Hike!
DESCRIPTION:We are excited for you to join us at an inclusive outdoor hike to Clara Lake on June 22\, specifically for our vibrant Latino community but this will also be a bilingual hike as well so that both native English speakers and Spanish speakers can attend. This is not just any hike\, but a unique opportunity for individuals of all ages\, from various walks of life\, to come together and connect with the beauty of the outdoors! \nThe hike\, scheduled to begin at 8 am (meet at the Mission Ridge parking lot) and conclude around 11 am\, will be followed by a community celebration featuring a BBQ (Carne Asada) at Lincoln Park in Wenatchee (the small picnic shelter). We are proud to partner with La Pera Radio Station to promote the event\, and Mr. Rafael Aguilar\, El Tio Tony\, will be joining us to capture the spirit of the day in a video. Whether you have never climbed in your life\, or have tried it a time or two inside\, let’s get down some basics on how to “clean” a route when outside now that the weather is warming up along with discuss “lead” climbing and how to accomplish this outdoors. We can also gain basic knowledge for knots used for climbing and have some more advanced classes down the road for other knot options. At a later date we can take a field trip! DESCRIPTION:For intermediate to advanced runners\, join WenOut team member Marlene Farrell for early morning speed intervals to help runners who like to race or to stay in shape. Marlene and crew meet weekly on Wednesdays\, and location and time can vary. \nHowever\, for this one the group is meeting at PD Elementary at 6:30am. They will run a 3-4 mile warm up on a local trail and then we go to the PD track for intervals. In the year between his last and his next June birthday\, Andy plans to mountain bike 70 days\, ski 70 days\, paddle 70 days\, summit 70 peaks\, lead 70 outdoor rock routes of a specified difficulty\, lead 70 indoor rock climbs of a specified difficulty\, enjoy 70 outings with his wife\, take outings with 70 different people\, ascend 210\,000 vertical feet (70K x 3)\, travel 1\,400 non-motorized miles (70 x 20)\, and more. \nThis presentations discusses the whys and wherefores of the project\, shows slides of various adventures along the way\, presents lessons learned and challenges encountered\, fesses up to where he is and is not on pace\, and strives to motivate others to take on projects of their own. \n
