SUMMARY:WRI Winter Wander at the Hatchery
DESCRIPTION:Begin the year with new discoveries! Starting from the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery\, join Wenatchee River Institute naturalist guides on a one-mile trail along beautiful Icicle Creek. We will learn about native wildlife and ecology along the way. What signs do we see along the trail that tell us what animals were there? How do the plants and animals survive winter? Even if this is your first time on a trail\, come along and enjoy this fun outdoor winter program! Bring your enthusiasm for the wonders of winter and nature\, and make sure to dress in warm layers. \nProvided – Gaiters and poles (snowshoes if weather/snowpack permits).\nLimit of 12 participants per group – Registration required for everyone in the party.\nDifficulty level – Beginner level\, all skill levels are welcome. Not ADA accessible due to non-plowed trails.\nMeeting location – Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery visitor center. \n\nCost – Pay What You Can: \nWe offer the Pay What You Can model in recognition that paying for education programs looks different for different people. \nThese prices are based on the costs to WRI to put on this program. If you want to attend this program\, we want you to be there. Use the below discount codes to adjust the total cost of tickets. Valentine’s Dinner at Mission Ridge is a one-of-a-kind experience that combines stunning mountain views\, cozy ambiance\, and an unforgettable dinner shared with that special someone. \nWhat to Expect \n\nThe evening begins with a scenic guided snowshoe walk up to the Midway Lodge\nA warm\, inviting atmosphere complete with soft lighting\, beautiful décor\, and fresh mountain air\nA curated\, multi-course dinner\nLive acoustic guitar to set the mood\nWine tasting – you can also add a bottle of wine at check-out and choose your favorite to take home!\nToast to love with delicious drinks\nViews that set the mood: snow-capped peaks\, candlelight\, and the crisp night sky\n\nTickets & Reservations \nSeating is limited to maintain the intimate feel of the evening. Make sure to reserve your spot in advance. Tickets go on sale January 14th. Don’t wait! We only accept 40 reservations. \nMenu\nEnjoy tasty appetizers when you arrive to Midway\, then dive into your delicious multi-course meal. \nStarter: \nFresh romaine layered with creamy avocado\, roasted corn\, red onion\, and vine-ripened tomatoes\, lightly tossed in a zesty chimichurri vinaigrette and topped with cotija cheese. Accompanied by warm tortilla chips. \nEntree: \nChile-Braised Short Ribs: Slow-braised short ribs infused with smoked chilies and aromatic spices\, resting on a citrus-bright lime and cilantro polenta cake. Topped with a deep\, savory chipotle–ancho sauce with roasted poblanos and fire-roasted tomatoes. \nOR \nOven-Roasted Salmon: Tender oven-roasted salmon served alongside a classic ratatouille of seasonal vegetables\, finished with a silky vodka cream sauce. \nDessert:  \nChocolate Bundt Cake: Rich\, moist chocolate bundt cake finished with a bright raspberry sauce. \nPrice \n$110 per person; this includes a delicious multi-course meal\, wine tasting\, liquor samples\, and 2 drinks with dinner.
