Teams sign up at the door by 7:00 PM\, and then the games begin—30 questions\, plenty of laughs\, and probably a few surprises. \nBeyond bragging rights\, this is a chance to learn more about sustainability\, connect with others in the community\, and just enjoy a relaxed night out. Watercore Cider will be serving up delicious pot pies (vegan options included)\, desserts\, cider (hard and soft)\, and beer. SUMMARY:WA Native Plant Society Hike at Little Bear Trail (Lake Chelan State Park)
DESCRIPTION:Leader:  Stephen Easley\nTrip Difficulty: Easy\nLimit: 8\n\nThe Little Bear trail begins in the state park and the trail transitions into a figure-eight loop composed of a forest loop (1.0) mile and a bitterbrush loop (1.3) miles. As the loop names imply\, there is a considerable different in plant species that we will find along this trail. There are sections of the trail with fabulous views of Lake Chelan and the surrounding area.\n\nLake Chelan State Park is up-lake 8 miles from the town of Chelan on South Lakeshore Road\, and is also opposite the northern terminus of Navarre Coulee Road for those coming from the south on Hwy 97A. Wear good hiking shoes\, bring water and snacks\, and dress in layers for the weather. A discover pass is required to park. Results will be posted immediately and may be accessed on our results page. \nSpectator Information\nThere are many great places to watch the Wenatchee Marathon. The start/finish line is a fabulous location. From there\, spectators may walk to the riverfront trail and view runners passing on the loop trail. Other options include riding a bike or driving from the starting area to Walla Walla or Confluence Parks. Both parks have lots of green space\, playgrounds and will provide wonderful vantage points of passing runners. \nParking\nOn race day\, there is a great deal of parking located east of Wenatchee Avenue (toward the Columbia River and behind Arlberg Sports and the Performing Arts Plaza). Please do not park on Wenatchee Avenue as it will be closed at 7:30 AM for the race. \nSupport Stations\nSupport stations will be equipped with Skratch energy drink and water. Stations will be located approximately every 2 miles. In addition\, there will be one energy gel location for Half Marathon participants (approx. mile 6.5) and two locations for Marathon participants (approx. miles 10 and 20). Aid stations will also be equipped with Vaseline and Band-Aids. \nThe support stations will be located at:\nWalla Walla Park\nConfluence State Park\n27th Street in East Wenatchee\n19th Street in East Wenatchee (marathon only)\nPedestrian Bridge over Columbia River at 9th Street (marathon only)\nOrondo Street Boat launch (marathon only) \nFirst Aid/Emergency Support\nThere will be a First Aid tent set up at the finish line and EMT support will also be on-hand in case of emergencies. Emergency cases requiring an ambulance will be dispatched via 911. \nPost Race Refueling\nWater\, energy drink\, and snacks will be provided in the Performing Arts Plaza for race participants only. Please retain your race bib for access to the food and drinks. \nFinisher Medals\nFinishers of all events will be awarded a custom Wenatchee Marathon medal upon crossing the finish line. \nRoutes\n5K/ 10k / Half Marathon / Marathon\nAll events begin on Wenatchee Avenue directly in front of the Performing Arts Center. From there\, runners will head north on Wenatchee Ave to Fifth Street. Runners turn right on Fifth Street and proceed down Fifth Street to its intersection at the Loop Trail. Runners turn left heading north on the Loop Trail. 10k and Marathon runners will turn around where the Loop Trail intersects the entrance to Confluence State Park. 5K runners will turn around in Walla Walla Park. Please stay to the right and look for oncoming runners at the turn-around. \n10k / Marathon\nFrom Confluence State Park 10k and Marathon runners will proceed back on the Loop Trail in the opposite direction. 10k runners will turn right at the pedestrian footbridge (approx. mile 6) and take the footbridge to the finish line at the Performing Arts Center. Marathon runners will continue on the Loop Trail making two counter-clockwise loops and finishing at the Performing Arts Center. \nHalf Marathon\nFrom Confluence State Park\, Half Marathon runners will proceed through the park\, past the restrooms and boat launch and continue on the Loop Trail in a clockwise fashion. Runners will cross the Columbia River on the Odabashian Bridge and continue on the Loop Trail to the turn-around in East Wenatchee (approx. mile 6.5). From the turn-around Half Marathon runners will proceed back over the Odabashian Bridge\, through Confluence Park until they reach the pedestrian footbridge (approx. mile 13)\, which they will take to the Performing Arts Center finish line. \n5k At Walla Walla Park\, 5k runners will take a routed turn around loop which will return them to same finish route as all other events. \nImportant Course Information\nMile Markers will be posted on blue and orange signs. Marathon and 10k signs are blue and Half Marathon signs are orange. Wenatchee Avenue and Fifth Street will be closed to traffic. The Loop Trail is open to other users including pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Please stay to the right whenever possible\, and respect others on the trail. \nCommunity Partners\nWe are very fortunate to have a great team of Community Partners ready to make your race experience smooth and memorable. DESCRIPTION:2025 Trail Race Event in Quincy\, Wa. \n\n\n\n\nRegister for this one early\, because it sells out! 50M / 50K / 25K / 10K are hosted on Saturday. Sunday is 50K / 25K / 10K (no 50M). The Saturday race sold out in February last year! We have strict permit limits at this event\, so if you want to run Saturday (especially with a group of friends) we strongly recommend you register before February. We do NOT do a waitlist for the event. You MUST register for the “Late Start” category using the registration button above. \nNew for 2025! We’ve added 100 spots for a “late” start 25k/10k that starts at 11:00AM. Sleep in\, or use the morning to drive in from the west side and hit the course later in the day. We’ve added this option to increase event capacity\, while managing trail congestion (most 10K/25K runners will be off the trails by this time). So if you like lazy mornings\, this option is for you! \nRace Day Registration\nIf there are spots available we will hold race day registration. If the event is sold out we will not. \nExperience the Magic of Ancient Lakes!\nCome experience the magic of the Ancient Lakes in the heart Washington Desert in this unique trail race! These trails are truly spectacular and will allow you to experience the best the desert has to offer\, taking you on a journey through canyon-like gorges\, along the shores of ancient desert lakes and to the base of cascading waterfalls. You will feel like you are in the desert southwest but with a Washington flare. With a distance for everyone\, and the same great support and swag you have come to expect from Run Super Series events\, this is an event you won’t want to miss at this exciting new venue! \nCourse Description\nWith a unique cloverleaf design\, our scenic course will allow you to experience the best of the Ancient Lakes area. The larger 25k loop features 3 smaller loops\, each beginning and ending at a common aid station. The 25k loop features about 2\,200’ of rolling up and down\, with no single climb or descent more than 400’. The trails are primarily single track. The first loop will take you to the a spectacular waterfall and then run along the shores of the Ancient Lakes. The green loop will run out to yet another lake and feature a return trip through some canyon like desert terrain. The blue loop will drop you down into the Columbia River Gorge\, and have you run along the river before climbing back out and rolling to the finish line. The 50k will run the 25k course twice and the 50M will run the 25k course three times. The 10k course will run on portions of the red and green loop and will have about 1\,000’ of elevation gain. Trails are primarily single track. \n25K will hit the aid station 2x at 4.7 and 10.1 miles. 50K will hit the aid station 5x at 4.7\, 10.1\, 16.2\, 20.9 and 26.3 miles. 50M will hit the aid station 8x at 4.7\, 10.1\, 16.2\, 20.9\, 26.3\, 32.4\, 37.1 and 42.5 miles. \n\nClick Here for more information or to sign up!

DESCRIPTION:Click here for registration link \n  \n2025 Tour de Plain Event # 3 Course Description \n  \nThe event offers 3 race options:  There are two timed events with a short (5 KM) and long (18 KM) tour of the Beaver Creek Trail. You can opt for classic or freestyle technique. The 3rd option is untimed/noncompetitive with no time record for the short course.  The events begin and finish at the Osprey Lodge Trailhead in Thousand Trails. \n  \nFor the 5 km short course\, begin from the Osprey Lodge trailhead and scan the START QR code there.  Ski along the BCT up valley to the Clear Creek loop.  Scan the QR code at the checkpoint in the loop. Then ski the BCT past the start to the Chiwawa Loop Rd crossing and scan the QR code at this checkpoint before returning on the BCT to the Osprey Lodge.   Scan the FINISH QR code there to complete the event. There are 4 QR codes scanned on the short course – START\, Clear Creek Loop\, Chiwawa Rd turnaround and FINISH.  All QR codes for the short course are on red signs. \n  \nThe long course starts at the Osprey Lodge trailhead. Scan the long course START QR code to begin the event and proceed on the BCT to the Clear Creek Loop. Scan the QR code at this checkpoint in the loop. Then ski BCT down valley to Plain until you reach the Meadow loop parking lot.  Scan the QR code near this trailhead and then return on the BCT back to the Osprey Lodge trailhead.    Scan the long course FINISH QR code to complete the event.  There are 4 QR codes scanned on the long course – START\, Clear Creek Loop\, Meadow Loop trailhead and FINISH.  All QR codes for the long course are on blue signs.  Do not scan the QR code at the Chiwawa Road crossing which is for the short course only. \n  \nThe course will be open from Friday\, February 28\, 2025 starting at 8 AM through Monday\, March 3\, 2025 completing the race by dusk. \n  \nYou can ski the course as many times as you’d like. Your times will be recorded and your fastest time counts. Enjoy the skiing! \n  \nSelf-timing \nTiming will be managed by each racer’s smart phone using the Webscorer Race Timer app to scan QR codes. The QR codes are marked visibly and scanning can be done without internet connection. Timing instructions will be sent to each racer in their confirmation email. Your race registration fees support the youth ski education programs of the Plain Valley Nordic Team! \n

He will discuss “The Ancient Ice Age Floods in the Pacific Northwest.”\n\n\n \nDr. Scott Burns\n\nWe know that Ice Age Floods have inundated the Pacific Northwest over the past 2.8 million years. But we primarily concentrate on the last ones\, the Missoula Floods\, that occurred between 20\,000-15\,000 years ago. That’s because the Missoula Floods left the most visible record; they obliterated nearly all the evidence of earlier inundations. Current research\, however\,  shows an unfolding story of the many torrents that preceded the Missoula Floods.
