DESCRIPTION:The Leavenworth Winter Sports Club will be hosting this Washington Nordic Cup inter-team time trial.  \nRACE LOCATION\nLeavenworth Winter Sports Club\nIcicle River Trails – BACK LOOP (see Course Map below)\nAccessible via:\nLeavenworth National Fish Hatchery\n12790 Fish Hatchery Rd. \nOverflow parking will be available at the Icicle River Trails trailhead\, from here it’s a 2k ski to the course. \nRACE DETAILS\nAll races will be freestyle.  \nAWARDS & SCORING\nAwards will be held directly following the race. These races will be scored using Washington Nordic Cup Guidelines. \nTo be scored as a participant in the WNC Series\, skiers must follow the below distance guidelines: \n5 km – Race open to all ages. Scoring for U16\, U18\, U20 and Open\n2 km – Race open to all ages. Scoring for U12 and U14\n1 km – Race open to all ages. DESCRIPTION:The Wenatchee Valley Erratics Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute will meet Tuesday\, February 11 at 7:00 PM. Our speaker will present remotely via Zoom from Portland. Or at home using Zoom link    https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81855547958Meeting ID: 818 5554 7958 \nDr. Scott Burns\, Professor Emeritus of Geology at Portland State University\, is a researcher\, teacher\, and story-teller of Pacific Northwest Geology. He will discuss “The Ancient Ice Age Floods in the Pacific Northwest.”\n\n\n \nDr. Scott Burns\n\nWe know that Ice Age Floods have inundated the Pacific Northwest over the past 2.8 million years. But we primarily concentrate on the last ones\, the Missoula Floods\, that occurred between 20\,000-15\,000 years ago. That’s because the Missoula Floods left the most visible record; they obliterated nearly all the evidence of earlier inundations. Current research\, however\,  shows an unfolding story of the many torrents that preceded the Missoula Floods.
