DESCRIPTION:Location: Cashmere Canyon Preserve \nConnecting with nature aids our physical\, mental\, and emotional health. Join CDLT and CVCH on a Hike for your Health\, on Saturday\, September 14th. This 8-month series of Saturday morning outings will take you to different areas in North Central Washington where you can connect to nature for FREE. A guided walk is offered for every event in the series. Arrive anytime between 7 am-9 am to walk the trails and receive a raffle ticket entry to win amazing health focused prizes. The guided walk for this date will begin at 7:15 am and end at 9:00 am. During the guided walk you will learn about the area’s plants\, wildlife\, and history. The event is open to all ages and will be led in English and Spanish. You do not have to participate in the guided walk to receive a raffle ticket entry.  \nSeptember will take you up the Wenatchee River Valley to Cashmere Canyons Preserve in Cashmere\, WA. This walk will be 3 miles and 762 feet of elevation gain on a wide dirt trail. Registration is not necessary to participate\, but it is appreciated. SUMMARY:CDLT Member Event: Salmon Viewing Driving Tour
DESCRIPTION:Location: Wenatchee River Watershed \nSalmon return to the place they were born\, to mate and spawn before they die. On this driving tour hosted by the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust you’ll visit three locations to observe and learn about the stages of a salmon’s life and how you’ve helped protect their home. The first location will be the Swiftwater Picnic Area near Leavenworth. We’ll then drive to the Napeequa Crossing Campground along the White River. For our final destination\, we’ll head to Nason Creek near Lake Wenatchee. \nEducation for this event will be bilingual in English and Spanish. Cascade Fisheries’\, Jen Herdmann\, will join us and share about the amazing world of salmon and how they need our help. We have loaner binoculars that you can borrow. \n\n\n\nThis is a great opportunity to learn about eBird\, the largest biodiversity-related community science project in the world\, and utilize it to record our observations of local wild birds. Total walking distance is ½ mile\, over a gravel path with two moderate hills. Come prepared for the weather. These walks will happen on the second Wednesday of each month for the whole year. DESCRIPTION:Date: Sunday\, September 15\nTime: Meet at the WRAC at 8 am\, 8:00-4:00 \nLocation: Twin Peaks to Horse Lake Reserve \nJoin the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT) for a challenging adventure from number 2 canyon over Twin Peaks to Horse Lake road. This hike\, led by seasoned outdoor enthusiast Andy Dappen\, covers approximately 12 miles with a 2\,500 feet of elevation gain. This trek is suited for experienced hikers—be ready for a moderately strenuous day navigating beautiful yet rugged terrain. CDLT will provide a shuttle to facilitate this outing. \nAndy Dappen brings a wealth of experience to the hike. Known for his ambitious “The 70 Project\,” where he set goals to complete hundreds of outdoor activities in his 70th year\, Andy’s deep connection to outdoor pursuits and the local landscape makes him the perfect guide for this journey. His passion for human-powered sports and local exploration\, highlighted through his numerous biking\, hiking\, skiing\, and paddling excursions around Wenatchee\, provides a unique perspective and inspiration for participants. \nThis hike offers an intimate and rewarding backyard experience. DESCRIPTION:Have you been to the Horan Natural Area between Walla Walla Point Park and Confluence State Park? The Horan Natural Area is a wonderful place to take a quiet stroll\, enjoy the river\, and see some cute critters and wildlife along the way. We will start at Walla Walla Point Park\, in the north parking lot by the softball fields\, walk north through the Horan Natural Area to the bridge over the Wenatchee river and turn back. A nice way to end the work day is to get moving and make some new friends!\n\nDue to construction on 19th street loop and the east side of the loop to resurface\, the Outing has been relocated to Walla Walla Park.\n\n

We’ll use large telescopes\, lasers\, and other fun astronomy tools to navigate stars\, galaxies\, and supernovae. Interested in constellations? At this program we can explore imaginative shapes that shaped our history and continue to shape our future! \n\n\n\nEvery program is different in this series and is catered to the curious and imaginative. So\, bring your deepest cosmic questions and let’s blast off into space! \n\n\n\nDuring the program\, please avoid the use of white light\, red lensed lights are allowed. If you’re driving to the event\, please try to avoid pointing headlights towards the beach while parking. \n\n\n\nPlease arrive 10 minutes early\, dress appropriately for the weather and possible wind; insect repellantmay be necessary. \n\n\n\nWhile walk-ins are accepted\, we ask that attendees please call our office ahead of time to RSVP so we can better prepare and offer a truly cosmic experience. DESCRIPTION:2024 Mountain Melodies Concert Series \n\n\n\nSinging\, dancing and alpine air! This concert series at Lake Wenatchee State Park features performances by great musicians and dancers amid the majestic mountain lake views. \n\n\n\nTime: All concerts are 8-9 p.m. \n\n\n\nLocation: South Park Amphitheater at Lake Wenatchee State Park \n\n\n\nThe Chumlilies are a four-piece string band sprouting from the Wenatchee Valley featuring acoustic guitar\, banjo\, fiddle and bass. Their first rehearsals transpired in a small yurt on the Chumstick Highway in 2019 and now they play throughout Washington. All members are vocalists\, composers and multi instrumentalists who write original tunes. Their passion for music and collaboration has fused them into a fun\, loving family band. They recorded their first full-length album ‘Runaway Wild’ in 2020 and released their second full-length album ‘Roots in real thick Mud’ in 2023. Their music has been described as Americana\, Country-Roll and Folkgrass. Their original tunes swirl with enchanting three-part harmonies\, vivid lyricism and strikingly gorgeous composition. They soften you with their charm\, transport you with their talents and bring you home with their genuine hearts. \n\n\n\nAnnual or One Day Discover Pass is required for vehicle access.
