Thank you. \nIce Age Floods using the Grand Coulee and the Upper Crab Creek drainages\, filled the Quincy Basin at a rate up to 16.5 million cubic meters of water per second. This tour\, led by Ken Lacy\, explores the incredible erosive consequences of the floodwaters escaping the Quincy Basin\, via Lynch\, Potholes and Frenchman Springs Coulees. The tour will also examine the eight mile wide Drumheller Channels\, through which most of the Quincy Basin floodwaters drained largely down the Lower Crab Creek drainage\, toward the Columbia River at Beverly\, Washington. \nTour goers will meet at the Wenatchee Valley Museum to board a tour bus that will depart at 9 a.m. \nTickets are $50 for Museum members and $55 for non-members. At Rendezvous Ranch\, we believe this special program was so beneficial to women that we want to offer it once again. Yes\, this course is for women and taught by women. The different skills offered are Mountain Trail through obstacles\, packing and rigging\, and Dutch oven cooking. There will also be an introduction to the benefits of equine natural hoof care and barefoot trimming as opposed to traditional farrier methods. \nThese skills are taught by experienced horsewomen with years of combined expertise. Each night you will enjoy a hearty Dutch oven dinner that you have helped create and prepare. All instruction will be at Rendezvous Ranch. DESCRIPTION:Good information for foragers\, gardeners and herbalists to know! \nIf you’d like to forage in the wild\, the first plants you should learn are the ones that kill you. With a healthy respect for these deadly plants\, you can forage with more confidence and safety. This class will focus on the identification\, toxic symptoms and background of the five most poisonous plants in Washington with ample visuals to back it up. The plants are: poison hemlock\, Indian hellebore\, water hemlock\, larkspur and foxglove. We’ll also briefly discuss some other toxic plants to watch out for including bittersweet nightshade and creeping buttercup. You’ll come away from this class with a solid base of information and some tools to help you identify these plants when you come upon them.\nThis class will be taught live on zoom using a powerpoint for visuals. Come ready to take notes and ask questions. DESCRIPTION:Run into the Wild \nHosted by Base Camp Cascadia \nSeptember 11-13\, 2020 \nSign-up for a three-day wilderness trail-running retreat for women to connect with wild spaces and to build community. This program includes food\, campsite\, yoga\, trail running\, and skill sessions on how to initiate your own adventure in the backcountry. The program will partner with La Sportiva Professional Athlete Maria Dalzot\, Just Breathe Yoga and SUP\, Snowgrass Farms\, and Alaska Mountain Women. \nThe program has been modified in size\, location\, and operations to reduce the risk of virus transmission and to adhere to state and federal COVID-19 guidelines. \nIf guidelines allow us to hold our small in-person program\, we will be requesting payment of either $495 (cabin selected lodging) or $395 (tent selected lodging) in August.  This fee is all inclusive and will cover location amenities (shower\, bathroom\, outdoor kitchen and hot tub)\, food\, and the program itself! DESCRIPTION:Hosted by RunWenatchee. \nThe Horse Lake 25K\, 10-Mile and 5-Mile Trail Runs are held on the 1\,700-acre Horse Lake Reserve\, located in the Wenatchee Foothills near the city of Wenatchee\, and owned by the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust. The reserve is known for its plant life and stunning views of the North Cascades and the Wenatchee River and Columbia River valleys. This 6th-annual trail run event is again a fundraiser for the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust. Proceeds will be go directly to trail construction and maintenance at the Horse Lake Reserve. \nCourse description: The trail runs utilize the Homestead\, Apricot Crisp and Glacier View trails. These trails are nicely graded single and double track. \n2020 Horse Lake Trail 25K\, 10 Mile and 5 Mile Runs will be Virtual\nDue to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in our region\, the 2020 Horse Lake Trail Runs will be virtual with continued fundraising support for the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT) for trail development and maintenance of these beautiful trails.\nRunWenatchee is offering several options for people who have already signed up for the Horse Lake Trail Runs: \n• Register or stay in the event and participate between Sept. 19 and September 30.
