DESCRIPTION:Date: April 7\, 2018 at 9am is an event by Central WA Evergreen and the Chelan Douglas Land Trust called Sagefest.  Building off the success and effectiveness of Evergreen’s work-party weekend that has maintained Devil’s Gulch and the Mission Ridge Trail for the past several years\, Evergreen and CDLT are partnering for a one day work party to maintain trail\, break new trail\, and ride in the Sage Hills before finishing the day with a BBQ at the Horse Lake Trailhead.  If you ride sage\, you should come out on April 7 to help with brush cutting (balsamroot) rut repairs\, drainage and improvements (homestead and glacier view) and if we have enough people\, to work on a NEW TRAIL!! (Burt’s Trail).  Put it on your calendars now and follow up with Central WA Evergreen’s website (https://cwevergreenmtb.org/) or the land trust’s website (https://www.cdlandtrust.org) to receive additional details as they are known.  For now\, plan to meet at the Horse Lake Trailhead at 9am.  Riding your bike to the event is encouraged!

DESCRIPTION:The Wenatchee Valley Erratics Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute will meet at 7:00 P.M.\, Tuesday\, April 10 at the Wenatchee Valley Museum\, 127 South Mission\, Wenatchee. \nIce Age Megafloods of the Pacific Northwest \nIce Age megafloods\, from at least three different sources\, left a dramatic mark on the Pacific Northwest that is clearly visible today. Our speaker\, Bruce Bjornstad\, will show evidence for dozens of floods from glacial Lakes Missoula and Columbia\, as well as Lake Bonneville\, via maps\, drone videos and other imagery. Bruce is a licensed geologist/hydrogeologist and author who specializes in the Ice Age Floods and is now the Master of  Megaflood features quadricopter videos. He recently retired as a Senior Research Scientist at Battelle’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. DESCRIPTION:Don’t get stranded in the wilderness with an injury! What do you need for emergencies when help is delayed by hours or days? In this course you will learn what to pack\, how to move a victim (building stretchers\, etc.) water rescues\, tourniquets\, possible wilderness injuries\, teamwork (who makes the decisions) and prolonged patient care. SUMMARY:Horse Lake Half-Marathon
DESCRIPTION:The Horse Lake Half-Marathon\, 7-Mile and 5-Mile Trail Runs are held on the 1\,700-acre Horse Lake Reserve\, located in the Wenatchee Foothills near the city of Wenatchee\, and owned by the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust. The reserve is known for its plant life and stunning views of the North Cascades and the Wenatchee River and Columbia River valleys. This 6th-annual trail run event is again a fundraiser for the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust. Proceeds will be go directly to trail construction and maintenance at the Horse Lake Reserve. \nThe Horse Lake event is part of the three-event Wenatchee Valley Trail Run Series put on by RunWenatchee. Other races in the series include the Red Devil Challenge Trail Runs (June 2\, 2018) in the Wenatchee National Forest near Cashmere; and the Oktoberfest Trail Runs (Oct. 20\, 2018) at Leavenworth. \nClick HERE for more information.
