DESCRIPTION:Thanksgiving Family Paint & Sip hosted by Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center \nJoin us this Thanksgiving for a virtual Family Paint & Sip. This painting is inspired by the book Tap the Magic Tree by Christie Matheson. We’ll be painting a Magic Tree on four 12 x 12 tiles; each tile depicts the tree in a different season and once complete the tiles fit together for one amazing 24 x 24 piece of custom art. You can gather three of your family members and each paint your favorite season\, or paint all four tiles yourself. Either way the goal is to be creative and have fun! \nThe cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members and includes all art supplies\, a recipe for Thanksgiving Punch to make and enjoy while you paint\, and a link to the step-by-step video instructions that allow you to follow along and paint at your own pace. You can stop\, rewind\, fast forward\, pause and take a break\, and watch as many times as you’d like. SUMMARY:Indigenous Language Class - nxaʔamxčín
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Wenatchee River Institute \nJoin Annette Timentwa\, Language Curriculum Coordinator for the Colville Confederated Tribes Language Department\, for this 5-week basic introductory class on the nxaʔamxčín language. The class will be covering Moses-Columbian language history\, phonetics/orthography\, vocabulary and grammar. Each class will cover 5-10 words or phrases\, along with some simple grammar concepts to try and make simple nxaʔamxčín sentences. Classes will cover family terms\, colors\, numbers\, and feelings because Annette feels that these are lessons that can be used at home and daily. Annette will be utilizing audio\, visual\, and video tools after the first class covers basic linguistic concepts and history. Participation is not mandatory\, but always encouraged- as I know Zoom can be a little intimidating at first. WRC Housing and Supportive Services: The Women’s Resource Center provides individuals and families experiencing poverty and homelessness with the housing and supportive services they need to be part of a healthy\, diverse community. This year\, hundreds of families will be in need of housing and supportive services in our area alone.
