SUMMARY:Devil's Gulch Running Race
DESCRIPTION:Devil’s Gulch is a challenging race with three distances: a half-marathon\, 50 Miler and 100 Miler. This race was created by Jessie McClurg of Banshee Running\, and Evergreen Trail Runs is honored to be continuing what she started. \nThis course is different from most of our races–it’s got hot\, dry high desert\, wicked gulches and huge rock hoodoos! Plus an actual restaurant to serve you up some post-race food. The 100 Miler is a tough one\, with lots and lots of vert and heat. The 50 Miler is….also challenging\, just a half-portion of crazy. For those who have a more balanced relationship with running\, we’ve got a half-marathon too. \nThree distances are available for this race: half-marathon\, 50 Miler and 100 Miler (gulp). \nWoodland Speeders Kid’s Race\nAs part of our Woodland Speeders program\, we offer free kid’s races at all of our events. Parents are welcome to run with their kiddos. You can register your child during the registration process for your own race or sign them up later. The course at Devil’s Gulch will be approximately 3/4 mile long and a little more uphill than our other races\, with about 200′ of gain. \nFor more information and to register click here.

SUMMARY:Both Sides of the Fire Line
DESCRIPTION:Red Barn Event: Both Sides of the Fire Line \nHosted by the Wenatchee River Institute \nWednesday\, July 19th from 7-8pm in WRI’s Red Barn OR via Zoom \nJoin us in welcoming firefighter and author\, Bobbie Scopa. Scopa spent close to five decades working through nearly every challenge a firefighter can face. While battling conditions and harsh flames on the outside\, she also found herself waging a tougher battle on the inside. Scopa was torn between how to maintain the façade everyone expected of her and whether to live as her true self. “A hero firefighter can’t possibly be transgender\, right?” she thought. Both Sides of the Fire Line is Bobbie Scopa’s uplifting memoir of bravely facing the heat of fierce challenges\, professionally and personally. \nMore info: https://wenatcheeriverinstitute.org/event-calendar.html/event/2023/07/19/red-barn-event-both-sides-of-the-fire-line/437258
