DESCRIPTION:Chelan Douglas Land Trust Presents\n\nDate-Mon\, 06/26/2017\n\nTime-6:00-11:00am\n\n\nLocation\nMountain Home Preserve \n\n\nWould you like to spend a weekday morning hiking\, viewing wildlife\, wildflowers\, and snow-capped mountains\, while being part of a small team collecting bird species data?  Citizen Science Project are collaborations between scientists and volunteers that expand opportunities for scientific data collection and help answer real-world questions. Learn more about becoming a CDLT citizen scientist volunteer by contacting Conservation Fellow\, Susan Ballinger at susan@cdlandtrust.org  or call 509-667-9708. \nCDLT is recruiting volunteers to help with two once/month bird monitoring projects. \n\nMountain Home Preserve eBird Monitoring Project\, prior to the thinning project that will restore a pre-settlement open ponderosa-pine forest.  Meeting at 6am at the Safeway store in Leavenworth\, or Susan will pick up carpoolers in Wenatchee at 5:30am at the Penny Road Park and Ride. We walk a 2.2-mile route\, stopping at 5 points to conduct 10-minute counts. Upcoming Dates: June 26.  Project continues through November. Watch for more dates.\nHorse Lake Reserve eBird Monitoring Project:  Meeting at 6am at the end of the pavement on Horse Lake Rd. to carpool up the gravel road\, we walk a 5-mile route\, stopping at 7 points to conduct 10-minute counts. All data is entered into eBird.  Our goal is to learn about bird use within the variety of habitats that include areas burned in 2015 wildfire.  Upcoming Dates: June 29.  Project continues through November.  Watch for more dates.

Our goal is to create a central racing venue to bring together the Valley’s cycling community for kids riders of all abilities. \nNever raced before? No problem\, come on up and give it a shot\, and consider joining one of our pre-race clinics. \nAre you a kid\, 6-9 years old and want to give bike racing a try? We are here for you! Come up to the ‘Chuck and take one of our Junior ride clinics\, and consider joining our Junior development cycling program (more on that coming soon).\nParents\, drop off your kid OR stay awhile and race! DESCRIPTION:Date\nWed\, 06/28/2017\n\nTime\n6:00 – 7:30pm\n\n\nLocation\nBalsamroot Trail \n\nOn the occasion of the two-year anniversary of the 2015 Sleepy Hollow Wildfire in the Wenatchee Foothills\, CDLT invites you come see the natural recovery of the resident native plants along the Balsamroot Trail. Hike leader and Conservation Fellow\, Susan Ballinger\, will share a photo point series and highlight the adaptations of native plants (and invading weeds) that have re-grown on the previously burned\, bare soil. \nThis hike will cover 1.5 miles round trip\, (no bathrooms at this trailhead; the trail has an uneven surface and there is a 300 foot elevation gain/loss). Park at the end of the pavement on Horse Lake Road where the trailhead is located on the south side of the road. RSVP required.
