DESCRIPTION:WenatcheeOutdoors.org presents- \nNew Experiences “WenOut” Indoor Rock Climbing \nWhen and Where: 4:15pm on August 23rd at Riverfront Rock Gym in Wenatchee \nThe purpose of these outings with the “New Experiences WenOut group” is to introduce families to new experiences\, to make new friends\, to support one another and to know that IT IS possible to get out with young children. \nThe third outing will be at Riverfront Rock Gym in Wenatchee on Wednesday August 23rd at 4:15pm. This is a great place for kids to burn energy and for adults to have fun. They also have AC on these hot and smoky days at the climbing gym! If you have a harness\, belay device and rock climbing shoes bring them with you. If not\, you can rent them from the climbing gym. You will have to sign a digital waiver if you have not been to this gym before which you can complete HERE so you won’t have to do it when you show to the gym. \nCost for a child 13 years and under is $12. DESCRIPTION:Date: Thu\, 08/24/2017\n\nTime: 6:00am – 11:00am\n\n\nLocation: Horse Lake Reserve\n\n\nHosted by the Chelan Douglas Land Trust \nWould you like to spend a weekday morning hiking\, viewing wildlife\, wildflowers\, and snow-capped mountains\, while being part of a small team collecting bird species data?  Citizen Science Project are collaborations between scientists and volunteers that expand opportunities for scientific data collection and help answer real-world questions. Learn more about becoming a CDLT citizen scientist volunteer by contacting Conservation Fellow\, Susan Ballinger at susan@cdlandtrust.org  or call 509-667-9708. \nCDLT is recruiting volunteers to help with two once/month bird monitoring projects. \n\nMountain Home Preserve eBird Monitoring Project\, prior to the thinning project that will restore a pre-settlement open ponderosa-pine forest.  Meeting at 6am at the Safeway store in Leavenworth\, or Susan will pick up carpoolers in Wenatchee at 5:30am at the Penny Road Park and Ride. We walk a 2.2-mile route\, stopping at 5 points to conduct 10-minute counts. Upcoming Dates: June 26\, July 18\, Aug. 23\, Sept. 14\, Oct. 12\, Nov. 9.\nHorse Lake Reserve eBird Monitoring Project:  Meeting at 6am at the end of the pavement on Horse Lake Rd. to carpool up the gravel road\, we walk a 5-mile route\, stopping at 7 points to conduct 10-minute counts. All data is entered into eBird.  Our goal is to learn about bird use within the variety of habitats that include areas burned in 2015 wildfire.  Upcoming Dates: June 29\, July 20\, Aug. 24\, Sept. 15\, Oct. 19\, Nov. 16.
