DESCRIPTION:SAS (Sisters in Action Sports) Ambassador\, Courtney Feeney\, will be leading a low-key snowshoe hike at Leavenworth Ski Hill in Leavenworth\, WA. \nThis is a girls/women’s only hike. All sisters all ages welcome. \nBring your own gear. Please make sure you have the appropriate layers\, outwear\, gloves\, hat\, waterproof shoes/snowshoes/micro spikes\, poles\, etc.  Depending on conditions\, snowshoes may not be needed.  Bring snacks and hydration.  No alcohol please. \nLet’s socialize while we exercise! Meet new people and spend quality time in nature. It might even be warm out. Easy trail to a scenic view of the valley. It may seem daunting at first\, but with the proper gear and planning\, backpacking can be for anyone. \nTo help with the planning process\, Arlberg Sports is hosting an evening with Osprey Packs and Summit Sales NW to provide some insight on how to get started backpacking\, ensuring a safe and positive experience. \nTopics to be covered:\n-How to plan out your backpacking gear list\n-How to pack your pack and pack maintenance\n-Other tips and tricks \nAll participants will go home with a free Osprey Ultralight stuff sack\, a key piece of equipment to organize your gear on the trail. \nThere will also be a silent auction benefiting Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. DESCRIPTION:Date\nSat\, 04/06/2019\n\n\nTime\n9:00 AM – 1:00 PM\n\n\n\nSIGN-UP ONLINE HERE!\n\nJoin us Chelan Douglas Land Trust on Saturday\, April 6th for the 2nd Annual SageFest – a volunteer trail event co-sponsored by Chelan-Douglas Land Trust (CDLT) and Central WA Evergreen Mountain Bike Association (EMBA). We will meet at the Horse Lake trailhead at 9:00 AM\, break into groups that will be shuttled to various access points\, then meet back at the trailhead for a 1:00 PM BBQ. We plan to do maintenance on Horse Lake Reserve trails\, Balsamroot trail\, Sage Hills trail\, as well as finish work on the new Burts Trail. This work will be light to moderate and involve hiking 2-5 miles and using hand tools such as hoes and McLeods along the way. \nCDLT and EMBA will provide trail maintenance instruction\, snacks\, BBQ lunch\, water to refill your own bottle\, gloves and tools. Please bring a water bottle\, and wear clothing you can get dirty\, including sturdy\, closed-toe shoes. If you have dietary restrictions\, we recommend bringing your own snacks. \nPlease RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount for lunch and provide you with details for the work party as the date approaches. \n*All work parties are weather and conditions dependent. DESCRIPTION:On December 18th\, 1994\, Steve Burchett died from injuries sustained in an avalanche burial while doing avalanche mitigation work at Mission Ridge Ski Area. Steve loved to ski and golf.
