SUMMARY:Twilight Snowshoe Trek
DESCRIPTION:This fun\, informative\, guided snowshoe trek leaves from the Mission Ridge Base Area and heads up to the Midway Lodge. The pace of each trek is fitted to the group’s interests and abilities. Great for first-time snowshoers and those looking for a unique\, non-skiing\, on-snow experience. Twilight Snowshoe Treks are approximately 1.5 miles in length\, with an elevation gain of roughly 550 feet\, and take approximately 2 hrs. \nSuggested Gear: Boots that fit well and offer good ankle support\, goggles\, gloves\, a winter hat\, coat\, snow pants & headlamp. \nCreature Comforts if you have them: backpack\, gaiters\, and facemask. \nGroups will meet at 4:30 PM in front of the Hampton Lodge Rental/Retail Shop and will depart promptly at 5:00 PM. \nPrice \n$10 to register\, $30 to rent snowshoes. \nHow To Purchase \nTours are available by reservation every Friday and Saturday evening from January 6th to February 25th.

DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Rocky Reach Discovery Center\, Chelan PUD \nExplore the world of energy — mechanical\, kinetic\, electrical\, and light — at the Family Fun Energy Extravaganza every Saturday in January and February at 10am and 2pm\, in the STEM Center at the Rocky Reach Discovery Center. Attendance is first come\, first served. The Energy Extravaganza is a free\, 1-hour journey designed for grandparents\, parents\, and kids to learn\, laugh\, and experience together. Afterward\, the fun continues with some take home experiments and activities. Be sure to stop by the Discovery Center for four floors of fun exhibits and games. Starting from the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery\, join Wenatchee River Institute naturalist guides on a one-mile snowshoe trail along beautiful Icicle Creek. We will learn about native wildlife and ecology along the way. What signs do we see along the trail that tell us what animals were there? How do the plants and animals survive winter?
