DESCRIPTION:Date: Thursday\, October 3\, 2024\nTime: 8:00 pm-10:00 pm\n\n\n\n\nWhere: Wenatchee River Institute\, 347 Division St.\, Leavenworth\, WA 98826Join Park Ranger Paul Tomas and local Wenatchee Valley Astronomy Club members on a family friendly journey through space. Using a variety of telescopes\, we’ll gaze up into the Milky Way and learn about some of the best night sky objects to view. From the stunning rings of Saturn and planetary nebulas\, to large cataclysmic supernova remnants we’ll journey through our own galaxy and even take a look at neighboring ones. \nDuring this program we’ll also explore the basics of telescope use\, the different types of telescopes\, and some helpful tricks to enhance your experience in star gazing. \nPlease dress for the fall evening weather as we will be outside the entire time. Be sure to leave the bright white lights at home. If flashlights are needed\, please only use red lights. As there is no seating\, please bring a blanket or chair. \nAge Limit: 8+ years old\nAges 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.\nRegistration for this event is required\, but cost is Pay What You Can. DESCRIPTION:Location: Saddle Rock Natural Area \nConnecting with nature aids our physical\, mental\, and emotional health. Join CDLT and CVCH on a Hike for your Health on Saturday\, October 5th. This 8-month series of Saturday morning outings will take you to different areas in North Central Washington where you can connect to nature for FREE. A guided walk is offered for every event in the series. Arrive anytime between 9am-11am to walk the trails and receive a raffle ticket entry to win amazing health focused prizes. \nThe guided walk for this date will begin at 9:15 am and end at 11:00 am. During the guided walk you will learn about the area’s plants\, wildlife\, and history. The event is open to all ages and will be in English and Spanish. You do not have to participate in the guided walk to receive a raffle ticket entry.  \nThis is the final event of the Hike for Health Series\, at the iconic Saddle Rock Natura Area. We will have FREE food\, music\, and activities for the whole family. After the hike at 11:30am we will begin the raffle for outdoor prizes. This walk will be 2 miles with 800 feet of elevation gain. Registration is not necessary to participate\, but it is appreciated.
