DESCRIPTION:Join Adam Vognild for a loaded carry\, ruck\, or weighted hike—different names for the same fun and challenging activity! Learn how to use “loaded carries” to build strength and endurance for backcountry adventures\, whether you’re hiking\, backpacking\, skiing\, or alpine climbing. \nWhy hike with weight? It’s a powerful mix of strength and conditioning that directly translates to better performance in the mountains. Loaded carries can be done anywhere\, anytime\, by anyone fit enough to hike in the hills. \nDuring the session\, we’ll cover the dos and don’ts of starting out and how to incorporate loaded carries into your training program safely and effectively. \nAdam Vognild.\nWhat to bring: your backpack\, 2–3 gallons of water\, and hiking poles. DESCRIPTION:Date: Thu\, 09/18/2025\n\n\n\n\n\nTime: 4:00pm – 5:00pm\n\n\nLocation: Kenzie’s Landing Trailhead\n\n\n\n\nDATE CHANGE \nJoin the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and NCW Libraries for an opportunity to show your creative side outdoors. \nWe will be meeting at the Kenzie’s Landing shelter to make recycled book page flowers! Come brighten up the beginning of fall with some flowers and greenery made from book pages that’ll last through the fall and winter. \nThis event is FREE and open to the public. All ages are welcome. \nRegistration is optional\, but it gives us a sense of how many people to expect. Plus\, you get reminder emails! Register through the NCW Libraries website. \nAccessibility:  \nThe Art on the Trails series takes place at the trailhead shelters. The shelters are a few steps away from the parking lot\, so not a lot of walking is required. The path to Kenzie’s Landing Shelter is loose gravel. There is plenty of shade and tables to sit at. \nThe Land Trust is working to make all of our events as accessible as possible.
