In this unique class\, instructor Claire will show you how to use simple tools—fine and brush-tipped pens\, plus a pencil—to translate the lines and shapes of the North Cascades onto the page. \nInspired by her 100-day sketching projects\, Claire has developed an accessible style that fosters joy and embraces mistakes. “There is something so meditative and fun about sketching with ink\, and I am so excited to share my favorite ink sketching techniques with you!” \nOver the past ten years creating art outdoors\, Claire has learned to sketch and paint in ways that are fun and accessible to artists of all levels. We’ll do our best to include all bikes\, but we especially encourage bringing bikes that aren’t in perfect condition\, since they provide more real-world problems for everyone to learn from. Each class will start with a ~30-minute lecture covering the skills and tools needed. The remaining ~90 minutes will be hands-on lab time\, the class will be working in pairs at stands.

DESCRIPTION:Join Wenatchee River Institute and local artist and instructor Teara Dillon of Artisus for a Red Barn Paint and Sip. Art supplies\, instruction\, and one beverage are included in registration\, and you will take home your masterpiece at the end of the night! \nOur painting will be inspired by the Red Barn Event “Tales from Lake Chelan”. Hear ecologist Nate Hough-Snee speak Thursday night\, November 13th\, about environmental and human stories from Washington State’s largest natural lake. \nAdditional wine\, beer\, and sparkling water will be available for purchase. \nInstruction starts at 6:30! Plan to arrive 10 minutes early to choose a seat\, collect your beverage\, and get settled. \nAges 16 and up.\nRegistration for this event is required. Limit 25 participants. \nCost is Pay What You Can. We offer the Pay What You Can model in recognition that paying for education programs looks different for different people.
