DESCRIPTION:About \nJoin WVAC members at Wenatchee Rover Institute near the Red Barn in Leavenworth. The WVAC team will talk about the different types of telescopes and how they work. We will have multiple telescopes out showing some of the seasons’ best and brightest celestial objects\, connecting you to your natural heritage\, the night sky. Bring your deepest cosmological questions! \nThis program is almost entirely telescope based. \nThis program may be held in the red barn if weather is inclement. Should this occur\, we will show off the different types of telescopes and how beginners can get started in astronomy.  \nProgram Rules \n \n\nDuring the program\, please avoid the use of white light\, red lensed lights are allowed.\nPlease dress appropriately for the weather and possible wind; insect repellant may be necessary.\n\nLocation \nWe will all meet at the covered picnic shelter at WRI where introductions and general outline of the program. From there we will walk down to near Barn Beach for the event. \nHow to Sign Up \nSpace is limited to 35 people\, so please register ahead of time to reserve your spot in the free program. Registration is required on the WRI website under events.  \nCost \nWhile the event is free\, donations are gladly accepted. All donations go towards WRI and help continued community-based programming.

SUMMARY:Cascades Track and Sign Evaluation with David Moskowitz
DESCRIPTION:Spend two full days in the greater Leavenworth area\, with professional wildlife tracker\, naturalist\, educator and author\, David Moskowitz. This class is a wildlife track and sign evaluation through CyberTracker North America. David’s approach to this class is highly interactive\, engaging participants in identification and interpretation of tracks and signs. Lots of time for questions and discussion is built in. This style is an excellent way to learn and investigate\, with the chance to achieve a wildlife tracking certificate through CyberTracker North America. Certificates are awarded on three levels. You will not want to miss this opportunity! \n\n\n\nCyberTracker classes provide an opportunity for quality\, focused learning from some of the best trackers in the country. They are designed to further participant’s tracking knowledge\, as well as to rigorously test and document their current tracking skill set. Originally designed to help African Bushmen gain employment on game preserves\, they also provide an internationally recognized certification of tracking ability\, an important credential for wildlife researchers and environmental educators as well as for people who want to test and push their own ability. Evaluations are entirely field based\, striving to expose participants to the widest range of tracks and signs as possible. Discussions are encouraged\, giving participants a chance to air their thoughts and receive individualized instruction. \n\n\n\nCost: $425 non-members\, $375 membersFood and lodging not included.Limit of 10 participantsTrail difficulty\, some off-trail travel\, up and down ridgelines. \n\n\n\nTo make these programs more accessible\, TCNA has made funds available for individuals from historically marginalized communities.
