- We are adventurers in common. Outing coordinators are not compensated. All participants share in costs equally.
- To be an official outing, it must be posted on the Wenatchee Outdoors website.
- Membership is required to coordinate an outing.
- Membership is required to go on overnight outings, except special/official events.
- All participants of Wenatchee Outdoors Outings must agree to the liability waiver.
- Exception to membership rule: Minors (under 18 years of age), who by rule cannot be members, may be allowed to go on trips with the consent of the outing coordinator and their parent or legal guardian. The minor must be under the supervision of the adult outing participant who has agreed to be responsible for the minor on the outing. A parent or legal guardian of the minor must sign this waiver on behalf of the minor and submit it to the outing coordinator prior to the outing.
- Social activities, such as parties, movies, and concerts that are not focused on the outdoors or outdoor activities are not to be considered Wenatchee Outdoors Outings and may not be promoted as such.
- Outing coordinators connected with both WenOut and another organization wishing to cross-list a trip with both organizations must have approval by the Wenatchee Outdoors Executive Director or the Outings Program Director as directed by Board approved policy. To be approved, organizations should be structured and have a mission statement or interests that are consistent with the Wenatchee Outdoors mission. Cross-listed outings/events must comply with all applicable WenOut policies and the cross-listing must be indicated in all written and verbal announcements.
- The Wenatchee Outdoors Board of Directors via the Outings Program Director and/or the Executive Director has the authority to reject any outing or outing coordinator it deems unsuitable.
- It is the responsibility of the outing coordinators and participants to discover and share information related to each other’s experience and capabilities regarding outing-related activities and responsibilities.
- Outing participants are assumed to give photo consent unless they otherwise refuse and make their Outing Coordinator and fellow participants aware of their refusal.
- Wenatchee Outdoors members should not publicly post participants’ personal identifiable information (email address, phone number, etc.).
- Outing coordinators may not refuse participation to anyone on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, age, religion, creed, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- Outing deposits are not intended to be refunded (but a trip coordinator may elect to do so). If outing food or supplies are purchased, and there is excess, the food and supplies are divided up after the outing. Or they may be bought back by the purchaser.
- Wenatchee Outdoors will not finance or loan money for outing reservations or other purposes.
- Automobile mileage reimbursement and wear and tear are at the discretion of the driver(s) and decided and agreed upon by all outing participants prior to the beginning of the outing. WenOut’s recommendation is to use the state (or federal) allowance at the time of the trip. (In 2023 this was $0.655 per mile—which includes fuel costs).
- Prospective outing participants are responsible for contacting the outing coordinator with any questions they may have. All outing participants are responsible for determining equipment needs and participation in outing planning & ongoing tasks. If a participant must cancel/drop out, the participant should provide ample notice to the outing coordinator.
- On all Wenatchee Outdoors outings, the outing coordinator shall strongly recommend all participants use applicable safety equipment. If an outing coordinator desires, they may require—rather than recommend—that outing participants use applicable safety equipment.
