As a naturalist, author, and conservationist, Mardy Murie was an ordinary American who was an exceptional advocate for wilderness and is now known as the mother of the American Conservation movement. She and her husband, Olaus, worked as advocates for wilderness conservation and were instrumental in the establishment of the Artic National Wildlife Refuge Act and the passage of the Wilderness Act. Following the documentary co-sponsor FUSE will provide a voter registration training as a way for citizens to engage as advocates in our community.
