Botany Hike at Horse Lake

April 12 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Date:
Time: 4:00pm – 6:30pm

Join Elisa and Tiffany, CDLT’s Communication Inclusion Coordinator and Stewardship assistant, for a mellow hike along the Old Ranch Road at Horse Lake Reserve.

We will aim to make it up to the western point of Glacier View trail, where we hope to see snow douglasia in bloom. We may also see blooming balsamroot, desert-parsleys, serviceberry, pussytoes, brodiaea, lupine, springbeauty, blue-eyed Mary, yellow bells, waterleaf, prairie-star, Oregon grape, bluebells, phlox, currant, and more. No botanical experience needed; we will bring a plant list in case anyone is interested. We can walk and talk about plants, restoration, weed control, and/or whatever the people are interested in. Participants can expect a light to moderate hike with a total distance of 3.5 miles and 700 feet of elevation gain. This event is for all ages. There is a carpooling option from the end of the pavement up to the trailhead.

Before you sign up, we recommend you read our Outdoor Volunteer Event COVID Safety Protocol. To sign up click here.
