About Diane: Diane Groody graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, in 1979, with a degree in Geology. She worked in exploration for precious metals in Colorado and Nevada before her employer, Asamera Minerals, sent her to Wenatchee to look for gold near the mouth of Dry Gulch in 1982. It was supposed to be a 6-month project but, after the discovery of a major gold deposit there, Diane stayed on as Asamera´s supervisory Mine Geologist until 1989. She then did mineral evaluations and mining claim inspections for the local Bureau of Land Management before entering grad school in 1997. Diane is retired and recently moved to Vancouver Island to kayak, hike and enjoy the wildlife.
