Fix & Maintain Your Outdoor Gear w/ WenOut Experts
January 23, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
January 23, 2018 Classes start promptly at 7:00pm.
Fix and Maintain Your Outdoor Gear with Wenatchee Outdoors Experts (Pybus University)
For the first third of this session you will learn about special supplies, materials, resources, and techniques to repair or restore your outdoor raincoats, rain pants, gaiters, tents, parkas, packs, sleeping pads, boots, and more. During the next two thirds of the session we’ll go to work on wounded gear that you’ve brought along with you. We’ll have a few sewing machines (and their owners) who will help sew failing seams or ripped equipment. We’ll also have resources on hand to patch, glue, or coat your injured gear. Even if the job is bigger than what we can tackle, we’ll coach you on how to go about it.
Andy Dappen, outdoor writer and founder of the Wenatchee Outdoors website, has been damaging-and fixing- his equipment for nearly 50 years. He says, “On a writer’s wages I can’t afford to buy a lot of new gear. I need to give all my gear second and third lives.”
