The Little Bear trail begins in the state park and the trail transitions into a figure-eight loop composed of a forest loop (1.0) mile and a bitterbrush loop (1.3) miles. As the loop names imply, there is a considerable different in plant species that we will find along this trail. There are sections of the trail with fabulous views of Lake Chelan and the surrounding area.
Lake Chelan State Park is up-lake 8 miles from the town of Chelan on South Lakeshore Road, and is also opposite the northern terminus of Navarre Coulee Road for those coming from the south on Hwy 97A. Wear good hiking shoes, bring water and snacks, and dress in layers for the weather. A discover pass is required to park.
