WA Native Plant Society Hike at Little Bear Trail (Lake Chelan State Park)

May 30 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Free
Leader:  Stephen Easley
Trip Difficulty: Easy
Limit: 8
The Little Bear trail begins in the state park and the trail transitions into a figure-eight loop composed of a forest loop (1.0) mile and a bitterbrush loop (1.3) miles. As the loop names imply, there is a considerable different in plant species that we will find along this trail. There are sections of the trail with fabulous views of Lake Chelan and the surrounding area.
Lake Chelan State Park is up-lake 8 miles from the town of Chelan on South Lakeshore Road, and is also opposite the northern terminus of Navarre Coulee Road for those coming from the south on Hwy 97A. Wear good hiking shoes, bring water and snacks, and dress in layers for the weather. A discover pass is required to park. A plant list titled “Little Bear Trail (Lake Chelan State Park)”, is available at https://www.wnps.org/plant-lists/county?Chelan.  If you would like to attend and receive more details, please RSVP to Stephen at seasley@nwi.net.
