Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery Snowshoe Tours with Wenatchee River Institute
Begin the year 2020 with new discoveries! Starting from the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery, join Wenatchee River Institute (WRI) area naturalist guides on a one-mile snowshoe trail along beautiful Icicle Creek, learning about native wildlife and ecology along the way. All skill levels are welcome, with snowshoes, gaiters and poles provided.
“Snowshoeing is a great way to spend time outdoors and stay moving during winter months, noticing things you often don’t see because you are either indoors or traveling by car,” said Tricia Cook, WRI administrations and communications.
Even if this is your first time on snowshoes, come along and enjoy this fun outdoor program. Bring your enthusiasm for the wonders of winter and nature, and make sure to dress in warm layers. Small group tours every Friday and Saturday during the month of January and on February 1st, at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery, 12790 Fish Hatchery Road. Cost is $12 per person.
