Upper Valley MEND’s Big Apple Glean
October 22, 2022 10am-1pm Cashmere, WAUpper Valley MEND’s gleaning program harvests excess produce from farms, orchards, and backyard gardens. This produce goes to food banks throughout Chelan and Douglas Counties. Join UV MEND, Harvest Against Hunger, and Chelan Douglas Community Action Council, on October 22nd, Make a Difference Day, for this year’s Big Apple Glean! We will be harvesting around 18,000lbs of apples for food banks across Washington State. This glean is located on an orchard in Cashmere, 10am-1pm, and we are looking for LOTS of volunteers. You will be equipped with all the necessary equipment. All you need to bring is water.
There is no age limit for this event we just ask that parents/guardians stay with their children and keep a watchful eye the whole time. We love to have families join!
If you would like to join us, please email Lily Roberts, Upper Valley MEND Gleaning Coordinator, at gleaning@uvmend.org.
We hope to see you there!
