Winter Snowshoe Hikes at Squilchuck State Park This event is hosted by the Washington State Parks and the City of Wenatchee Parks and Recreation and Cultural Services Snowshoes are provided! These guided snowshoe hikes are open to all ages and experience levels. Washington State Park Rangers lead each hike on established, family-friendly trails to familiarize beginners with the basics of snowshoeing and discuss winter ecology. This fun, informative, guided snowshoe trek leaves from the Mission Ridge Base Area and heads up to the Midway Lodge. The pace of each trek is fitted to the group’s interests and abilities. Great for first-time snowshoers and those looking for a unique, non-skiing, on-snow experience. Reports claim that he found $1,100 worth of gold, which would be worth over $100,000 today. Come learn about this fascinating Washington pioneer and take a look at Etienne Creek's flora.
