Snowshoe Hikes at Squilchuck State Park

Winter Snowshoe Hikes at Squilchuck State Park This event is hosted by the Washington State Parks and the City of Wenatchee Parks and Recreation and Cultural Services Snowshoes are provided! These guided snowshoe hikes are open to all ages and experience levels. Washington State Park Rangers lead each hike on established, family-friendly trails to familiarize beginners with the basics of snowshoeing and discuss winter ecology. Twilight Snowshoe Trek

This fun, informative, guided snowshoe trek leaves from the Mission Ridge Base Area and heads up to the Midway Lodge. The pace of each trek is fitted to the group’s interests and abilities. Great for first-time snowshoers and those looking for a unique, non-skiing, on-snow experience. Antoine Etienne and the Flora of His Namesake Creek

This event is hosted by the Wenatchee River Institute Wednesday, February 8th from 7-8pm in WRI’s Red Barn In 1860, a Black prospector named Antoine Etienne mined for gold in Peshastin Creek, the creek that now bears his name. Reports claim that he found $1,100 worth of gold, which would be worth over $100,000 today. Come learn about this fascinating Washington pioneer and take a look at Etienne Creek's flora.
