🚲 WenOut Kids: Thursday Recap! 🍃 Last Thursday wa 🚲 WenOut Kids: Thursday Recap! 🍃

Last Thursday was an absolute blast with our WenOut Kids crew! We kicked things off at Pybus Public Market before hitting the trails for a solid 45-minute ride.

The energy was high as we cruised over to Walla Walla Point Park, where the kids took a well-deserved break to burn off some extra steam on the playground. 🧗‍♂️✨

To wrap up the evening, we slowed things down back at the base. The kids tapped into their creative sides with some nature journaling, capturing the sights and sounds of our local environment. It’s amazing to see the world through their eyes! 📝🌸

Want to join the fun? See you THIS Thursday! Meet at Castlerock Trailhead.

We are kicking off May WenOut Kids Thursdays with We are kicking off May WenOut Kids Thursdays with a lineup specifically designed to help your little ones burn off that extra afternoon energy. Every Thursday this month from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, we’re heading to different local spots to explore, move, and discover the wonders of our own backyard.

From hiking up the foothills and biking through the trees to exploring the riverfront, these sessions are all about high-energy fun and hands-on discovery. We’ll be peering through microscopes with @wenymca to find hidden worlds and hitting the trails to get those legs moving. It’s the perfect mid-week opportunity for kids to unplug, let loose, and engage their natural curiosity alongside some of our favorite community partners and board members.

Getting involved is easy—just be sure to hop over to wenatcheeoutdoors.org/events to sign the required outings waiver and get the full details on where to meet us each week. Grab the sneakers and the sunblock, and let’s make this May a month of wild adventures and muddy knees. We can’t wait to see your family out there!

Huge thank you to everyone who joined us for last Huge thank you to everyone who joined us for last week’s outing! 🥾📚

We had a fantastic time exploring the new StoryWalk by the @cdlandtrust .

It was wonderful to see so many families and eager young hikers hitting the trail to combine a little exercise with a great story. We loved trekking the Old Butte trail from the Jacobson Trailhead—clocking in about 1.6 miles and soaking up those spring views.

Thank you for making our local landscapes so vibrant and fun! This week's WenOut Kids Thursdays will meet at Pybus Market and will walk or ride bikes to Walla Walla Park and back. Don't forget to sign up! Link in bio.

Afternoon Fun at Rocky Reach! We had such an incr Afternoon Fun at Rocky Reach!

We had such an incredible WenOut Kids Thursday afternoon at the @visitrockyreach last week!

The session kicked off with an awesome visit from James Webber of the Chelan PUD. James led the kids through an engaging discussion about how we harness the wind to create energy. It was so cool to see the kids getting curious about the science behind the breeze!

After the talk, we shifted gears from wind to water. We tapped into our creative sides by painting fish and making beautiful fish prints. To wrap up a great afternoon, we headed out to the playground to soak up the sun and burn off some energy. It was a fantastic session of learning, art, and community play!

🥾 Join us this week!
Ready for our next adventure? Come along this Thursday as we explore Old Butte via the Jacobson Trailhead!

The Plan: We’ll be hiking the Old Butte trail (approx. 1.6 miles round trip with 200-400ft elevation gain) and reading the storyboards along the way.

Special Guest: We are excited to have Jenise, a Wenatchee Outdoors volunteer, join us to lead a discussion about nature journaling during the hike!

Bring your curiosity (and maybe a notebook!) and let’s hit the trail together.
