Volunteers should plan on hiking about 2 miles and using handtools for earthwork. Bring a water bottle, wear sturdy shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather. Learn to prepare and preserve bird study skins. This in-depth class will cover all the aspects of taxidermy such as skinning, cleaning, preserving and mounting birds. Gain a greater understanding of keeping scientific data of the specimen. Importance of safety and health considerations will be covered.
