With such an abundance of high quality granite in the area, why go inside a gym to climb? For starters: year-round access regardless of weather, off-season training, education, and to provide a social hub for the local climbing community.

For these reasons, and more, the Leavenworth Mountain Association is hoping to provide a climbing gym for the greater Wenatchee Valley, complete with top roping, lead climbing, bouldering, an outdoor literature library, gear cache, and more. Climbing gyms offer beginner training in a safe, close to home environment, climate-controlled conditioning and training for seasoned veterans, and a welcome atmosphere for when getting to the crag just isn’t an option.

Sound good? If you like the idea (or not) take a few minutes to fill out this survey and let LMA know. Here’s a link to the survey.
