A note from the editor-It may be nearing Winter but we are stoked about this new mapping system of our area. We checked out the maps and really like how routes are broken down by comfort level for biking, and that they can be geo referenced.

Wenatchee Valley Bike Map Now Here

Looking for the safest route to ride your bicycle to work or school? Want to ride a scenic route through the orchards to Cashmere, but not sure how to how to link up the roads? Wondering about bike routes in Chelan? The answers to these questions, and more, can be found in the new Wenatchee Valley Bike Map!

The Chelan-Douglas Transportation Council (CDTC) has created a new bike map for the communities of Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Leavenworth, Cashmere, and Chelan along with help from community partners and the regional bicycle advisory committee. The map shows bike routes and facilities in the region, categorized by rider comfort level. The comfort level ratings help riders select routes based on their personal riding style and abilities. The printed map is published in English and in Spanish, and free to all–thanks to funding support from an Our Valley, Our Future grant.

The map is available in three formats: a handy pocket-sized print edition, a web-based version, and a geo-referenced PDF format. The geo-referenced PDF version can be used with the free Avenza app to view your position on the map and navigate using the GPS in your mobile device. Instructions for downloading and installing are available at www.bikewenatcheevalley.org/maps-and-routes.
