“About 1800 of skiing pleasure, a long walk, but the views were so good, and the flowers were so fragrant, the miles just fell away.”
Now we know Jamie is not just a good talker, he’s poetic when he picks up a pen.
Details, Details
We think Jamie’s pictured route is the same one Chester Marler writes about as a summer peak-bagging excursion: Chiwawa East Peak (see our guidebook). This summer you have a choice — take this trip with or without skis.
Maps: See topographic maps of the area below. Map 1 (approach to Spider Meadows) and Map 2 (route to Spider Meadows and Lyman Lakes). The East Peak is between Chiwawa Peak and Spider Gap.
Leave It Better Than You Found It: This should be every outdoor user’s goal. Pick up trash left by others, pull some noxious weeds along your route, throw branches over unwanted spur trails, don’t ride or walk wet trails when you’re leaving ruts/footprints deeper than ¼ inch…
