These are Camas Lilies shot in a moist meadow with a Canon 5D MK II equipped w/ an EF 24-70 zoom . There was filtered morning sidelight which highlighted the flower heads and the tips of the
grasses nicely. I wanted to try something different and make them appear soft and fluid, so I put a neutral density filter on the lens, used a two second exposure at maximum (f/22) aperture, and panned upwards during the exposure. This type of thing is trial and error and usually a large number of tries is required to get it right but I got lucky and the third exposure was what I was looking for: just the right amount of smooth, upward motion without any horizontal jiggle.
