Of all the bodies of water dutifully named “Blue Lake” in Okanogan County, this particular Blue Lake in the Sinlahekin Valley is an exceptional place to cast a line for rainbow and brown trout up to 18 inches in length.
Access. From the town of Loomis, take Broadway Street (which becomes Sinlahekin Road) and go south about. 11.5 miles before turning right at the public fishing sign. Alternatively, drive north from Omak on Highway 97 for about 15 miles. Go left on Pine Creek Road, passing Fish Lake in 6 miles, and reach a junction with Sinlahekin Road. Turn right and drive about 4 miles to reach the public-fishing area at Blue Lake mentioned above.
Map. See our map for accessing this lake.
Season. Blue Lake, like many other lakes around the region, is primarily a late-spring and early-fall fishery, with July and August experiencing a slump in the quality of fishing. Check Okanogan County Fishing Regulations and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) site for more info and seasonal regulations.
