Running – there’s no quicker way to get outdoors. There’s also no easier, cheaper way to acquire the frequent aerobic exercise a body needs to stay fit. And, around these parts, there’s no need to contend with traffic while running. Even if you live in downtown Wenatchee, the region’s largest population hub, a good route makes traffic a non-issue. Charlie Hickenbottom uses the Wenatchee running loops mapped in this attachment to stay fit and to stay away from traffic. Those of you living or working near downtown should check out these circuits: Whether you want a 20-minute run (the shortest recommended stint for training purposes) or an hour’s lope, you’ll find some at this link RunningRoutes-Hickenbottom.

The Stephen Maher also highlighted four runs around Wenatchee in this article published in The  Wenatchee World  (July 22, 2008). For wilder runs around the region that get you out on the trails and away from the chaos of town, see either our ‘Hiking-Backpacking’ guidebook or our ‘Trail Running’ guidebook on this website.
